MEANING: This Celtic Cross is covered with pyrography symbolic of Love and Marriage for those enchanted with Irish heritage and meanings.
Matrimonial Panel - This pattern is taken from a Celtic wedding band and expressed in a single solid piece of wood to convey the meaning of endless devotion.
The Claddagh - “With these hands I give you my heart, and I crown it with my Love.” The Claddagh stands for Friendship, Love and Loyalty and the Eternal Braid ensures that it will last forever.
A Traditional Irish symbol, most often found in the form of a ring, usually engagement or wedding ring. The hands represent friendship, the heart - love, and the crown - loyalty. Yet, another meaning can be, "Let love and friendship reign forever".
Shamrock - The three-leafed shamrock is mainly an Irish Christian symbol of the Holy Trinity. Legend has it, St. Patrick used the shamrock to illustrate the Doctrine of the Trinity. When you look at the Shamrock there is the stem and then three leaves. God is the stem and then on each of the leaves is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Wood carvings of the Irish Love Knot, Matrimonial Panel, and Claddagh are available in the Celtic Love Knot category.
Our carvings are single pieces of western red cedar, designed and carved to be wall hangings. Each piece is finished with a blend of clear oils that brings out the natural color of the wood. For more information on the process of creation, please see my profile.
SIZE: The cross is approximately 13 inches high by 8 inches wide.
